Arrival to Costa Rica, where a representative of the company will transfer you to the hotel Torremolinos

The hotel is 15 minutes from the airport and closed to the Museum of Costa Rican Art and La Sabana Park.

Early in the morinig, you will be transferred to Atlantic Coast, first driving trough the Costa Rican rainforest and later you will board a boat for an exiting trip through the jungle until you arrive to the Jungle Tarpon Lodge.

The New Jungle Tarpon Lodge is one of Costa Rica's most deluxe and unique Caribbean Jungle Adventures. Nestled in a very special 100 acre paradise that is bounded by the Parismina River lagoon and the Caribbean Sea, turtles nest on our beach, monkeys and birds fill the tree top canopy and fresh and saltwater fish surround our Island hideaway near the entrance to the Tortuguerro National Park.

For anglers on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica, Tarpon (megalops atlanticus) is the primary target. Nothing can quite compare to 110 pounds of pure muscle leaping from the water! The battleground for this fishing adventure is both the ocean via our comfortable offshore boats and within the jungle lagoons on flat bottom john boats.

Skim along the shoreline in search of large Tarpon feeding on baitfish.

Should the weather preclude comfortable ocean fishing, then the target will be Snook or one of the many other smaller species available in Rio California and lagoons within the jungle. Even if the weather is fine, this is fishing that shouldn’t be missed!

Return to San Jose. At arrival to San Jose, a private shuttle will be waiting you to transfer you to Guanacaste to Hotel Ocotal. Ocotal Beach Resort is a small luxurious hideaway where visitors relax and enjoy the marvels of the Pacific Ocean in year round summer weather.

The fertile fishing grounds of the Gulf of Papagayo, provides year round action for approximately 25 varieties of sportfish. Although most famous for its sailfishing from April through September, these same waters produce great marling catches almost every month of the year.
During peak months, Ocotal boats regulary raise 10 to 20 sailfish each day. But sails are caught year round averaging 1 to 2 sails raised per day from October through March.
Boat crews are experienced to assist light tackle and fly fishermen challenge these 100 pound plus fish.
The Gulf of Papagayo´s marlin fishing is recognized as some of the finest in the world. Black marlins are caught all months of the year with the best chances from May through August. For blue marlin, ones again our waters are considered some of the finest in the world. Seen year round most catches are made during December, January, February, March and April.
The rare striped marlin is also occasionally catch in our waters.
Apart from billfish, probably the most sought after prey for the sport fishermen is the roosterfish. More trophy-size roosters are taken from waters around Ocotal than any place in the world. Generally taken on live bait, 40 to 60 pound roosters can be taken with amazing certainty year round. Other popular sport fishes include Dogtooth Snapper, Wahoo, Dorado and Yellow Fin Tuna.
